The short answer: browser-based DAWs and web synths play their audio output through the tab itself, the same as any video or music site — so capturing it is just a tab-capture recording, no different from grabbing audio off a streaming page.
Why this works
Whether the source is a web-based DAW rendering a project, a browser synth being played live, or a sample library's preview player, the audio still has to reach your speakers through the browser tab's audio output. Anything that plays through the tab can be captured the same way, regardless of how it was generated internally.

- Bouncing a quick idea out of a web DAW without exporting through its own (sometimes limited or paywalled) export feature
- Recording a browser synth or sampler being played live, to capture a performance or a one-off sound

What to watch for
- Latency and buffering — some web audio tools introduce small playback glitches under load; a clean room with nothing else demanding CPU helps avoid artifacts in the capture.
- Export limits in the source tool — if the web DAW itself caps free exports or paywalls them, tab capture gets you the audio without depending on that tool's own export flow.
- Trimming after the fact — a live-played capture usually has dead air at the start and end; trimming it down to the millisecond afterward is the same step as cleaning up any other tab recording.
