Questions? Answers.
Everything worth knowing before you install.
Does Samplr access my microphone?
No. Samplr records the audio output of the browser tab itself using Chrome's tab-capture API — it never requests microphone access.
Is any of my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. Every recording, edit, and export happens entirely on your machine. Samplr has no server and no account requirement, so nothing ever leaves your computer.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free covers recording, millisecond-precision trimming, playback, WAV export, 44.1/48kHz sample rates, stereo or mono, and up to 5 saved recordings. Pro adds loop and reverse playback, speed/bass/reverb effects, MP3 export, 96kHz sample rate, and an unlimited recording library, for a one-time $9 purchase.
Is Pro a subscription?
No — Pro is a one-time $9 purchase that unlocks the full feature set permanently. There's no recurring billing, ever.
What happens if I hit the 5-recording limit on Free?
Samplr blocks new recordings until you delete one or upgrade — your existing recordings are never deleted automatically.
When will Samplr be available?
Samplr is in final testing before its Chrome Web Store listing goes live. Check back soon.
